We have a sympathetic and transparent process to assess the potential and suitability of prospective foster carers. This includes taking up references; completing medical and criminal records checks and producing a comprehensive report for submission to our fostering panel.
Our foster carers come from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds. They may be married, divorced, in a same sex relationship or single. They may live in a rented property or be buying their home just as long as they enjoy being with children and young people and have a suitable spare bedroom.
The whole approval process takes approximately 4 months.
