Training commendations

Comments from trainees:

Secondary Special school teacher
I now look beyond the child’s actions in order to respond to their needs. This has helped build better relationships and a more co-operative environment.
Secondary Special school teacher
The training opened up new doors for me, knowing that there is so much more to ‘behaviour’ than is immedietly observed.
Learning Mentor
I have gained a great deal from the training and being able to discuss things with other professionals in the same field. The OFNR technique is brilliant to enable focus on what’s going on now.
Learning Support Worker
I now practice a non-coercive approach to situations and children during my working day. This approach has had positive results with the particular children I have been working with.

Outreach service worker
Relationships with these children and young people is key to enabling change, knowing their story is essential in understanding their beliefs and motives for the behaviours they may display.
OFNR will enable me to gain insight and clear perspectives of what is happening now, to then enable further understanding of the story. This in turn will allow me to build on my relationships with the children and with the staff who work with them.
1:1 Support worker
This approach has had positive results with the particular children I have been working with. I have developed a broader knowledge of how to recognise hidden needs and agenda and will endeavour to promote co-operative outcomes within the school where I am employed.
